AFC Royal Holloway win SPCFL Challenge Cup

AFC Royal Holloway won the Surrey Premier County Football League Cup Final with a 1-0 win over Keens Park Rangers. The match was played at Abbey Rangers on a dreadful playing surface in front of a crowd of more than 250.

The Old Boys started the game strongly, and having already gone close on several occasions, took the when Minhaz Chowdury stabbed home from close range after good work on the left by Luca Tartaro.

The wind and slope played a big part in the game and KPR came back in the second half and won a penalty for handball, but ‘keeper Jake Bennett pulled off a fine save from the spot-kick.

Holloway hit the post twice as they tried to put the game to bed, but despite a couple of late scares, did enough to hold on for victory.

Glory, glory!
