Olly Patterson
Midfielder Olly started playing for the Old Boys while still a student at the university, and put in enough impressive performances that manager Stu was worried he could disappear and play for a team at a higher level. Stu needn’t have worried, as generally teams in higher divisions prefer their players to actually attend training sessions, and their players prefer team mates who don’t cop off with their missus when their backs are turned.
Once firmly established as a regular in the Old Boys midfield, Olly helped the club over a successful period winning the Intermediate league, finishing runners-up in the Elite league, and winning the County Cup. He was always keen to dominate the opposition and add a few chirps for good effect, the only exception was when Olly got bullied himself which was when he would cry to the gaffer to substitute him.
