Aziz Hajjaj

Az is one of the longest serving players at the club, first appearing in the Reserves when his older brother was a regular. 16 years old and a mere lightweight lad, Az was involved in a nasty collision with the opposition goalkeeper and with the sight of his eyes rolling everywhere and a bloody nose, his team mates feared he might never recover.

When he returned it’s fair to say things had changed. Here was a six foot plus heavyweight bruiser equally at home in defence or midfield, strong on the ball but wearing white boots to convince everyone he had a decent touch. Az has played his part in a couple of first team promotions…we say a part because he can never be relied upon to be available for more than two games in a row.

And when he does appear he usually forgets to bring any money for subs or fines, so we’re pretty sure his IOU to the club is in three figures.
